Leveraged Push-Pull Wheelchair

A team of students must design and construct a wheelchair that is leveraged for forward motion by both pushing and pulling the handlebars. This will be done using a gearbox that acts as a ratchet system. The students will also aim for the wheelchair to be collapsible for easy transportation, have zero turn radius, have adjustable handlebars for comfort and maximum steering potential, and have a manual breaking lock.  Accomplishing these goals will allow the group to create a sufficient and user friendly wheelchair for those who want to save their joints from additional pain but also want a money saving alternative to buying a motorized chair.
